Michael Anigbo
Parish Councillor
MMichael currently works as a Senior Manager for Technical Delivery at Virgin Media O2. He has worked there since 2014 where he started as an Engineering Graduate and has moved through different roles within the company over time. He is a big advocate of promoting STEM to younger generations and helps support the early career schemes such as Apprenticeships, Internships and Graduate programmes at his place of work.
Michael has lived in Basingstoke since 2016 and moved to Rooksdown in 2021 with his wife as homeowners.
Prior to this, Michael spent some years at Newcastle University where he studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering along with Communications and Signal Processing. While there he volunteered as an Engagement and Integration Project Worker helping non-native students assimilate. He was also a student ambassador, student mentor and was elected as the President of his Engineering School’s society. He was later elected as the representative for all Academic Societies at the Student Union Executive Committee for the University and was a member of the Union Council.
Michael is a big sports fan and enjoys playing football, running or being at the gym. Outside of that he enjoys history and is passionate about people and their communities. He is very fond of Rooksdown and hopes to help it flourish as a place and a community.
